Youâve probably heard something about life coaches and wondered what exactly that is or even why someone would work with a coach.
While there are many opinions (both đđź & đđź) about life coaching and working with one, it ultimately comes down to YOUR REASON for wanting to work with one. I will break down what a life coach is, is not, why you would work with one, and how you know you are ready to hire a life coach.
I work with women who lack the confidence to stop their people-pleasing habits in order to focus on their own self-care so they can be confident in who they are and live a life they are truly excited about.
Ultimately, to live their life as the person theyâve always hoped they would be. đ
What is a life coach?
A life coach helps an individual create change in their life; moving them from where they are, to where they want to be. Life coaching helps people think and behave differently; consciously learning what is best for them and the life they want to live.
A life coach is wholly committed to the client and the goals they wish to achieve; reminding them of their strengths, helping them develop positive feelings about themselves, and gives valuable feedback to their client.
My job is to help you assess where you are today, get clear about your strengths and weaknesses and help you get clarity about where you really want to go in your life.
Then, together, we come up with actions that break your goals down into smaller steps. By creating forward-focused action items, I am able to hold you accountable to make the changes necessary to get from where you are to where you really want to be in your life.
Youâll develop a deep fulfillment, youâll create a life that youâre proud to live and a life that is just as happy on the INSIDE as it looks on the outside.
A life coach is not:
A counselor. Counselors support people in dealing with potentially unhelpful thoughts, behaviors, and life patterns by looking back over someoneâs life history to discover why they are in the present situation. A life coach looks only from someoneâs present to their future.
A consultant. Consultants are hired to give expert advice, often telling someone exactly WHAT and WHEN to do something. Life coaches believe that each person has the answers they most need within themselves. It just takes powerful questions, forward-focused action, and the willingness to dive deeper withing themselves to achieve this.
A sports coach. While sports coaching and life coaching share similarities such as challenging people, holding them accountable, and rooting for them, life coaching doesnât focus on winning or losing. Life coaching isnât competitive but instead a growing process where âwinningâ happens within the client as they positively move toward their goals.
A best friend. Yes, you want a life coach you feel comfortable opening up and connecting with but you need someone who will be âraw and realâ with you. Someone who isnât afraid to give you direct and honest feedback, to keep you on track during the session and your series.
Why does someone hire a life coach?
living as their most confident self
finding their lifeâs purpose
leaving their corporate job to do something more fulfilling
getting a promotion at work
improving their health and/or wellbeing
finding more creativity within themself
creating lasting self-care routines
working on their relationships
moving through significant life transitions
building a business
(there are so many more reasons but Iâll stop here) đ
How do you know when you are ready to work with a coach?
Itâs time for a change and you need the support and accountability system a life coach offers.
You are willing to let someone into your life, fully trusting them to guide you to something more.
You are prepared mentally & emotionally to dive deep into your goals, actions, and show up 100% at each coaching session knowing that this is all for YOU.
You are ready and willing financially to invest in a coach in order to live your dream life.
You already know Iâm not here to tell you what to do.
I am here to support you in whatever way works best for you, to encourage you, to offer you resources you may not know about, to keep you accountable to yourself & your goals, and to push you further than you would go on your own.
So if, while reading this, youâve been nodding your head to yourself like a crazy person. (donât worry, weâve all been there!) If you have felt that lost feeling, that feeling that thereâs something more for you, something that has been just out of reach for so long, then it might just be time to hire a coach.
Iâve invested in coaches and coaching groups throughout my journey. And I will continue to do so because I have witnessed first hand the value they provide to me and my life.
I started my journey with a life coach because I felt lost, I lacked confidence in living as my true self, I was an over-the-top people pleaser, and I let others push me down.
With a gentle nudge from my husband, I found my first life coach and it was LIFE CHANGING. đđź
Having a life coach (& continuing to have one) has allowed me to live the life Iâve always envisioned for myself. This has pushed me out of my bubble, encouraged me to pursue more, given me the resources to grow, and provided opportunities I know wouldnât have come to me without the support of a coach.
I
t would be an absolute honor to have a chance to work with you and see if weâre a fit to get YOU to your dream life! đ¤Š
